Mission-Driven for Contemporary Art in Africa
The COWRIE Culture is an advocacy platform dedicated to the expansion and sustainability of the contemporary art ecosystem in Ghana and across Africa. We aim to contribute to economic growth and social development in domestic art ecosystems through creative collaborations. We imagine that our collaborations will contribute to professional development for artists, art education in schools, community engagement with art, cultural tourism, and ultimately for the preservation of contemporary art around the Continent. We envision doing work that will help make the dreams of the next generation of artist-entrepreneurs, art collectors and art ecosystem thought leaders come true.

Our Mission and Plan
At the COWRIE culture, our mission is to contribute to the expansion and sustainability of the contemporary art ecosystem across Africa.
We plan to achieve this goal by working in partnership to:
Build cultural centers in African countries to expand cultural tourism, contribute to the creative economy, and promote exposure to contemporary art and culture.
Raise awareness about the impact that the contemporary art sector could have on economic growth and social development.
Build art institutions to train the next generation of professionals in the art ecosystem.
Build a base of new art collectors and art patrons to help grow and sustain domestic art ecosystems.
Support artists through online courses and professional development workshops.
